2024 10th Annual Health Fair Slide Show

In case you missed the 10th Annual Health Fair, here is slideshow of all that was on display. Sponsored by the Sustainable Ridgefield Park Green Team, together with the Knights of Columbus Council 2229, this year's Health Fair featured over 50 vendors and a Blood Drive hosted by the American Red Cross .  This year's Health Fair was held at the Knights of Columbus main hall while the Blood Drive took place in the lower level of the Knights of  Columbus.

"The combination of environmental stewardship, social equity and fiduciary responsibility to support healthy, equitable and resilient environments and communities is just one of the many goals we have for the Village of Ridgefield Park," said Leslie Olson, Chair of Sustainable Ridgefield Park. "We cannot begin to thank all the health organizations and vendors enough for taking the time to participate and highlight their health care services at this year's health fair. Their participation creates awareness, provides education and helps promote a healthier lifestyle, on many levels, for the residents of Ridgefield Park."

In addition to the Health Fair, the Red Cross conducted a successful Blood Drive with approximately 30  donors who donated their blood. The Red Cross reported that Ridgefield Park exceeded its goal of 21 units of blood.  This included six Power Reds, which equals 12 units collected. With a Power Red donation, you can give nearly twice the amount of red cells and help more patients. This type of donation uses an automated process that separates your red blood cells from the other blood components, and then safely and comfortably returns your plasma and platelets to you.

In total, 34 pints were collected.  One blood donation can save more than one life. Each unit donated (about 1 pint) can be divided into three primary components – red blood cells, plasma, and platelets. If you missed the Blood Drive and wish to donate blood, please call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit https://www.redcrossblood.org to become a donor.

If you missed this year's Health Fair, just remember that next year's Health Fair will be held in October of 2025.

Our thanks to all who participated in 10th Annual Health Fair and Blood Drive.  Remember to bring a friend next year.
