About Us

Our current emergency response vehicle is 35-feet long and manufactured by Seagrave. Among its features are a ten-ton winch and a 9,000-watt lighting mast. The various compartments contain enough tools and equipment to handle any emergency situation including vehicle extrications, high-angle and water rescue.

The Rescue Squad, founded in 1951 as a Civil Defense unit serving the Village, has expanded its original mission to become an integral part of the municipal emergency services.

Each member of the Squad is required to complete an 80-hour Heavy Rescue Certification course and must serve a six month probationary period before becoming a regular member. Some members are also certified fire fighters.

The Rescue Squad building, dedicated in 1976, is located in Brewster Park near the intersection of State Highway Route 46 and Main Street.

We are a Volunteer Organization

The members of the Rescue Squad donate their time and efforts to the community. In addition to providing on-call services, Squad members also participate in mutual aid drills, fund raising events, parades, memorial services and holiday activities. New members are always welcome. To learn more, call 201-641-6242 and leave a message for one of the officers.
