Brewster formed the Friendship Hook and Ladder Company, which was incorporated February 22, 1892. The name was taken from the small hand drawn hook and ladder wagon purchased for $100 from a Long Island Fire Company. Hook and Ladder Company Number 1 was located at Brewster and Euclid Avenues, where the company's quarters are still located. |
