Municipal Court

Welcome to the Village of Ridgefield Park Municipal Court!

We are an independent branch of government constitutionally entrusted with the fair and just resolution of disputes in order to preserve the rule of law and to protect the rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the United States and the State of New Jersey.

The Ridgefield Park Municipal Court handles the following cases:

  • Traffic - Moving and Parking
  • Criminal and Quasi-Criminal - Disorderly and Petty disorderly persons offenses
  • Ordinance Violations
  • Penalty Enforcement Proceedings - Weights and Measures
  • Fish and Game Violations

Violations Bureau

Office Hours: Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

  • Payments in person at the Violations Bureau may be paid by cash, check, credit card, or money order.
  • Payments by mail may be made by check or money order. Please do not send cash in the mail.

  • Monthly - Mondays at 4 pm (as scheduled) - in person

Financial Questionnaire Form 5a is used to apply for the following:

  • Installment Payment of Fines / Penalties
  • Indigent Defense Services - A defendant is indigent and facing a consequence of magnitude (jail time, license suspension, or any penalty over $800)

ADA & Interpreting Services

  • Please advise the Municipal Court office in advance if you require an ADA accommodation.
  • If you need the services of an interpreter, please notify the Municipal Court prior to your appearance.
  • Si necesita los servicios de un intérprete, notifíquelo al Juzgado Municipal antes de su comparecencia.

Complaints can be filed by going to the police station and talking to a detective or by going to court.
