Mayor's Wellness Campaign is Coming to Ridgefield Park: Community Input Needed for FREE Fitness Programs
The Village of Ridgefield Park is proud to join over 415 New Jersey communities participating in the Mayor's Wellness Campaign (MWC), a statewide initiative from the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute and the NJ State League of Municipalities that empowers local leaders to make their communities healthier places to live, work, play, and age.
About the Mayor's Wellness Campaign
The Mayor's Wellness Campaign is a statewide community health initiative that provides evidence-based tools and strategies to mayors and community leaders to help residents achieve healthier lifestyles. More than 72% of New Jersey's municipalities participate in this program, working together to identify local health needs and implement programming to address them.
Ridgefield Park is committed to making healthy lifestyles a top priority through inclusive, evidence-based health and wellness programming for all residents.
Your Voice Matters
Before launching the program, we want to hear directly from residents about which classes they're most interested in and what times work best for their schedules. Classes will be offered on weekday evenings after 6:30 PM and/or Saturdays. All classes are designed to accommodate various ages, interests, and fitness levels. The Village of Ridgefield Park is committed to keeping MWC programming free or low-cost to ensure accessibility for all residents.
Take the Survey
Residents are encouraged to complete a brief online survey to share their preferences and help shape the program. The survey asks about:
- Preferred class types for our first offerings
- Best days and times for attendance
- Age ranges of household members interested in participating
- Ideas for future programming additions
Take the survey now: tinyurl.com/rpwellness2025
Participants can also opt in to join the mailing list to receive notifications when class registration opens.
Building a Healthier Ridgefield Park
Through the Mayor's Wellness Campaign, Ridgefield Park is taking active steps to improve community health and wellness. By keeping programming free or low-cost and offering diverse options, the initiative aims to make fitness accessible to everyone in the community.
Classes will be scheduled based on survey responses, with the most popular offerings launching first. Additional programs may be added throughout the year based on community interest and participation, as we work toward achieving our wellness goals and potentially earning New Jersey Healthy Town designation.
