Businesses in Ridgefield Park Go Green
- Java Day Cafe at 224 Main Street is no stranger to the smell of bacon in the morning. Paul Lee and his team deliver breakfast sandwiches and wraps so to start our day. Making sure sure the fats and oils they use are properly recycled is one of the many reasons they were awarded a Ridgefield Park Green Business Seal.
- Come to The Fire Pit Grill at 9 Mount Vernon Street, grab a bite and find out how Tony turned "green". The Fire Pit Grill uses only paper and aluminum when getting customers their orders. You are served in-house on aluminum trays and for take out, no plastic bags unless you ask. The same for straws too.
- Walk into Dennis Melone's Rising Sun Academy at 195 Main Street for some of the best Mixed Martial Arts and Jujitsu training in the area. No stranger to being sustainable - the process of maintaining change in a balanced environment, he insures his business uses green cleaning products and only sources materials that can be recycled.
Congratulations to the owners of Java Day Cafe, The Fire Pit Grill and the Rising Sun Academy for successfully participating in the Ridgefield Park Green Business Program. By completing a survey and meeting criteria created by the Ridgefield Park Environental Commission and Green Team each business owner earned and received a Green Business Seal. The program is designed to encourage local business owners to employ green practices in their businesses, while the overall goal is to help these businesses to qualify and become a part of New Jersey’s Sustainable Business Registry.
