Event Date:
Saturday, November 12, 2022 - 9:00am to 1:00pm

The Ridgefield Park Green Team is joining forces with the Village Department of Public Works to hold a Free Paper Shredding and Hard Plastic Drop-Off event on Saturday, November 12 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in front of the DPW garages in the Village of Ridgefield Park located on 24 Industrial Avenue. The event will take place rain or shine.

  • Besides protecting yourself from identity theft, did you know that shredding paper is good for the environment?
  • Using old paper to make new paper uses 30 to 50 percent less energy than making paper from trees.
  • Pollution is also reduced by 95 percent when used paper is made into new sheets.
  • 40 percent of all waste going to landfills is paper. Cutting down on paper waste will extend the lives of our landfills.

In addition to bringing materials for shredding, the Ridgefield Park Green Team is collecting Bulky Rigid Plastics that are not part of the village's normal recycling curbside schedule. The following items that will be accepted during the Drop-Off include:

  • Plastic Tables and Chairs
  • Lawn Furniture
  • Laundry Baskets
  • Crates
  • Storage Containers
  • Garbage Cans and Lids
  • Children's Play Sets
  • Plastic Toys that are Missing Pieces or Broken
