Functions

• Issues Department of Health licenses to food establishments.
• Conducts routine inspections of Food Establishments, monitors Food Handler licenses.
• Responds to complaints of Insects, rodents, garbage, mold, heat complaints, and unsanitary conditions.
• Dog Bite Incidents - Quarantine notices, Follow-up with veterinarians to ensure the animal is healthy. (Not rabid).
• Conducts rabies clinic annually.
• Well baby clinic - Letters to new parents advising of free vaccinations for babies and children.
• Unlicensed dogs - Postcard reminders and follow-up letters to dog owners. Issue summonses.
