By 1905, as the Village continued to grow, the need for fire protection to serve the southern section of town was apparent, and following the approval by the Village Trustees, the Overpeck Hose Company Number 2 was incorporated on July 3, 1905. A member of Hook and Ladder Number 1, Louis Eucker, donated a small hand pumper and hose cart for the company's use. In 1906, the Overpeck Hose Company purchased a lot to the north of the Hook and Ladder's quarters, and is still quartered there today.
