ABOUT THE BOARD OF RECREATION
The Board of Recreation develops and promotes healthy recreational activities for all Village residents, regardless of age, sex, color, creed, or national origin.
The Board is made up entirely of volunteers who generously give their time to serve our community. Operating on a small budget provided by the Village, these volunteers organize programs and activities that serve hundreds of residents each year.
Eligibility: All children's programs are open to residents of Ridgefield Park and students who attend school in Ridgefield Park.
MEETINGS
All Board of Recreation meetings are open to the public. Residents with questions, comments, or suggestions are welcome to attend.
When: 7:00PM, third Thursday of each month (No meetings in July, August, or December)
Where: Civic Center, 159 Park Street, Upstairs, Ridgefield Park, NJ 07660
Programs Run by the Board of Recreation
The Board of Recreation organizes recreational programs and activities for Village residents of all ages. Current programs include:
- Archery
- Easter Egg Hunt
- Family Olympics
- Fiber Arts Meet-Up
- Holiday Tree Lighting
- Holiday Display Contest
- Holiday Wish Tree (in partnership with Health Department)
- Kids Yoga
- My First Sports Stars
- Rag-a-Muffin Parade
- Running Club (currently seeking a new group leader - contact us if interested!)
- Saturday Night Hoops
- T2S Basketball
- Tennis
- Walking Club (coming soon! reach out if you'd like to be a group leader!)
- Women's Taekwondo
- Youth Basketball

Commission secretaries are part-time roles and work remotely. They do not have offices at the Municipal Building. For the fastest response, please email them directly. While the front office is happy to help, they don't have access to commission materials and will need to forward your inquiry to the secretary.

Board members work together to develop recreational programs for all ages and plan Village events like the Easter Egg Hunt, Rag-a-Muffin Parade, Holiday Tree Lighting, and Holiday Display Contest.
