Love Your Library?
Share the Love

ebruary is be a special month as the State Library, New Jersey Library Association, and Barnes & Noble have partnered for "Love Your Library" month. Every purchase made by every customer every day in February at every Barnes & Noble in New Jersey will generate funds to support the 2008 public library summer reading program in every NJ library as long as the customer has a program voucher. We have loads of vouchers available at the library and they can also be downloaded from http://www.njla.org So if you'd like to share the love you have for your library and its children's programs, please make it a point to obtain a voucher and make a trip to Barnes & Noble during February.

Celebrate Woman's History Month

A member of the American Historical Theatre’s History Alive troupe will portray Abigail Adams on Thurs., March 6 at the RP Library. Abigail Adams was a strong and influential woman deeply engaged in the politics of her time. Men, like Thomas Jefferson and her husband John, valued her opinion on political matters. While her husband was away, she took over the management of her family and the farm, leaving a legacy of letters unlike any other. This free program will begin at 7:00 p.m. and refreshments will be served at its conclusion. So that we can adequately plan, please register by phone (201-641-0689), email (karpoff@bccls.org), on in person at the library desk. An adult must accompany children under 13.

Music by Gershwin

Back by popular demand, professional musician Dennis Kobray will entertain you with the music, life and times of George Gershwin on Sunday, May 18th at 2:00 p.m. Please register by phone (201-641-0689, email (karpoff@bccls.org), or in person at the library desk. National Library Week

National Library Week will be celebrated April 13 through April 20. We will kick off the celebration with an appreciation reception for library volunteers and donors on Sunday, April 13th at 2:00 p.m. This is our way of thanking those who routinely help us with programs and make monetary donations to assist us in serving the reading and informational needs of the community.

The Friends will hold the annual spring book and bake sale during National Library Week as well. Used books will be accepted at the library beginning on April 15. The sale will be held on Thurs., April 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Fri., April 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sat., April 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The selection of books will be huge, the prices more than reasonable, and all proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Library.
