The Ridgefield Park Public Library Schedule of Events
September 2008 The Library will be closed on September 1 in celebration of the Labor Day Weekend
- Sleepy time Tales—Tues., 9/2, 9/9, 9/16, 9/23, 9/30, 7-7:30 p.m. Children of all ages are invited to visit the library for stories and treats.
- Basic Internet Instruction—Thurs., 9/4, 9/11, 9/18, 9/25, 10:00-11:00 a.m. For those adults who want to learn to use a mouse, set up an email account, and perform basic Internet searches. Pre-registration is required.
- Baby & Me—Fri., 9/5, 9/19, 11-11:30 a.m. Parents, grandparents & caregivers are welcome to bring their little ones for simple stories, finger plays & fun songs. Start your baby on the path to lifelong reading. Program is for newborns to 2 year olds. Registration is required.
- Book Bingo—Mon., 9/8, 9/15, 9/22, 9/29, 3:30-4:30 pm. Children of all ages play for small prizes. Younger children may need assistance from parent or caregiver.
- Friends of the Library, monthly meeting—Tues, 9/9, 7:00 p.m. Join the Friends as they work to support and enrich the programs and services offered by the RP Library. New friends are always welcomed. Refreshments will be served.
- Totally Tea—Wed., 9/10, 7:00 p.m. Stacy Roth of “History on the Hoof” will discuss the importance of tea in the lives of 18th-century people. This unusual costumed presentation of tea lore, history, songs, poetry is the perfect prequel to the Friends Annual Tea Party being held on 9//21. - Story time Registration—9/15-9/19, Story time is for pre-school Ridgefield Park residents ages 2-5. We are offering 2 story times for 2-3 year old children due to increased demand. Please choose to register for either Wednesday or Thursday morning.
- Adult Book Discussion Group—Friday, 9/19, 10-11 a.m., or Monday, 9/29,
7:30-8:30 p.m. Plum Wine by Angela Davis-Gardner will be discussed. Pick up
your copy of the book at the library. Attend the session that fits your schedule.
- Amy’s Tea—Sun., 9/21, 2:00 p.m. Join the Friends of the Library for its second annual afternoon tea. Tickets will be on sale through the Friends and at the library in mid-August. Tickets are limited and last year’s tea sold out in a matter of days so reserve your place early.
- Story time—Wed., 9/24, 9/25, (Thurs., 9/25 for 2-3 year olds only) This program is for Ridgefield Park pre-school residents only. Pre-registration is required.
2-3 year olds meet from 10:30-11:15 a.m.
4-5 year olds meet from 1:30-2:15 p.m.
- After School Story & Craft—Wed., 9/24, 3:45-4:30 pm. This program is geared for children in K-1st grades. Includes stories, crafts & a small snack. Registration is required.
