People of all abilities are welcome to our programs
The Library will be closed on Sat., 5/25 and Mon., 5/27 for Memorial Day

  • Pre-school Storytime—Wed., 5/1, 5/8, 5/15, 5/22, 5/29, Pre-registered RP 2-3 year olds meet from 10:30-11:15 a.m. and 4-5 year olds meet from 1:30-2:15p.m
  • After School Story & Craft—Wed., 5/1, 5/8, 5/15, 5/22, 5/29, 3:45-4:30 p.m. for pre-registered children in kindergarten and 1st grade.
  • Computer Workshop, Wed., 5/1 (basic use of word processing format commands in Microsoft Word), 5/8 (basic use of the BCCLS catalogue), 5/15 (basic use of library card and request features of BCCLS website), 5/22 (basic downloading of eBooks and audio books from BCCLS catalogue; must bring an ereader or IPOD for audio). All workshops are from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Seating is limited; please register in advance at the desk. This program is primarily for Village residents; non-residents will be wait listed and served if space is available.
  • Baby & Me—Thurs., 5/2, 5/9, 5/16, 5/23, 5/30, 11:00-11:30 a.m. Pre-registered parents, grandparents and caregivers are welcome to bring their newborns to 2 year olds for stories, finger plays and songs.
  • Movies for the Over 18 Crowd — Thurs., 5/2, 5/16, 5/30, 2:00 p.m. Stop by the library or call to see what films will be playing on these dates. All movies are on Thursday starting at 2:00 pm. Come and enjoy a free movie.
  • TGIF Jr.—Fri., 5/3, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Book club for pre-registered children in grades 2-3. Games and snacks are on us. “Love That Dog” by Sharon Creech will be discussed.
  • Cinco De Mayo--Sat., 5/4, 12 noon-1:00 p.m. Open to village children up to grade 6, grade 2 and under must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Join us and learn a little history, enjoy some food and music, and create a memento to take home. Register at the desk or by phone.
  • Sleepy Time Tales—Tues., 5/7, 5/14, 5/21, 5/28, 7:00-7:30 p.m. Children visit the library for stories and a snack. Feel free to wear your pajamas and bring a lovey.
  • Book Buddies—Fri., 5/10, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Book club for pre-registered children in grade 4. Games and snacks are on us. “Wonderstruck” by Brian Selznick will be discussed.
  • Jeff Schalk Memorial Art Exhibition, Opening Reception—Fri., 5/10, 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.; art will be on display from Fri., 5/10 to Sat., 5/18. This juried art exhibition will display the work of artists of all ages working in a variety of mediums, i.e., painting, drawing, mixed media, printmaking, photography, and digital art
  • Teen Book Discussion—Mon, 5/13, 6/10, 7:00 p.m. “Revive” by Cat Patrick will be discussed. Stop by the library for a copy of the book. New members are always welcome.
  • Wii Tuesday—Tues., 5/14, 5/28, 3:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Teens gather at the library for Wii games, snacks, and socializing. Bring a friend!
  • Friends of the Library, monthly meeting—Tues., 5/14, 7:00 p.m. Join the Friends to discuss upcoming programs and projects and socialize over refreshments. New Friends are always welcome.
  • Tweens—Fri., 5/17, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Book club for pre-registered children in grades 5-6. Games and snacks are on us. “Wolves of the Beyond” by Kathryn Lasky will be discussed.
  • Adult Book Discussion—Mon., 5/20, 7:30 p.m. or Fri., 5/31, 10:00 a.m. Books to be discussed with be announced separately. Stop by the library for a copy of the book to be discussed. New members are always welcome.
  • Board of Trustees, monthly meeting—Wed., 5/22, 8:00 p.m. Members of the public are always welcome.

  • Between the Covers – Mon., 6/24, Check out “Groundbreaking Reads” this summer at the Ridgefield Park Library’s Adult Summer Reading Program. There will be NO book discussions, meetings or logs to keep but there WILL be weekly drawings for prizes, movies, and special programs. Registration begins 6/25 but you may sign up any time during the summer. Grab a flyer at the library, call us at 201-641-0689 or visit our Facebook page. This program is free and open to village residents over 18 years of age.
  • Adult Book Discussion—Mon., 6/24, 7:30 p.m. or Fri., 6/28, 10:00 a.m. Books to be discussed with be announced separately. Stop by the library for a copy of the book to be discussed. New members are always welcome.
  • Talk It Out—Mon., 6/24, 7:00 p.m. Summer reading program for teens begins with a bang. Join us for Wii games, a preview of the books to be read over the summer, special snacks and a craft.
  • Dig Into Reading!—Tues., 6/25, Registration begins 6/25, but you can sign up any time during the summer. Our main goal is to help you maintain and improve your child’s reading level, and have fun doing it. There will be weekly drawings for prizes and there are incentive prizes to keep them reading all summer. Reading is a skill your child will need all their lives to succeed. Let us help them have fun practicing. This program is for village residents.
  • Muscle Man Mike & Soccer Sue—Tues., 6/25, 7:00 p.m.. This Fit4Kids show will help children learn the importance of health and fitness on their level. Pre-registration is required.
  • Board of Trustees, monthly meeting—Wed., 6/26, 8:00 p.m. Members of the public are always welcome.
