Narcotics Task Force in a surveillance on this building located on Bergen Turnpike.
It is an old helicopter hangar now owned by a courier company.

This huge transformer was shipped into the United States from Mexico by rail where it was transferred to truck, traveled through Texas, and ultimately unloaded in Ridgefield Park.
US Customs flagged the load and followed it to its destination, alerting the Ridgefield Park Police.
Combined surveillance by the RP Police, US Customs and Bergen County Narcotics Task Force over a period of time resulted in the recovery of:
989 kilos of cocaine!
With an estimated street value
of up to 100 million dollars!

Pictured is Det. Ehalt (left), D/Sgt. DiNiro (in shorts), Sgt. Tom Connors (stacking the kilos), Ptl. Greg Davis (right) and Ptl. Charles Gneiding on the right helping unload the cocaine.
Ptl. Gneiding and Sgt. Connors stopped a vehicle suspected in the distribution of cocaine that contained 154 kilos of cocaine. With the cooperation of the four suspects arrested, the rest of the load was recovered in the transformer.

A view from on top of the transformer looking down on one of the largest cocaine seizures in New Jersey history.
Ptl. Charles Gneiding (now in the Detective Bureau) and Sgt. Thomas Connors (now retired!) take a well deserved breather.
