| 7/29/2005: RPOEM: Special Needs List |
RIDGEFIELD PARK Village residents are reminded that the Office of Emergency Management keeps a list of residents that will require assistance in an emergency. Examples are: persons in a wheel chair, on a respirator, on any life support machinery that would require back up electricity during power failures, bedridden, etc. How it works: Every address in the Village is listed in the Police Department computer. When you fill out a confidential "special needs" application, your address is red flagged in the Police computer. When any emergency situation is reported at your address, it is pulled up on the computer and the responding officers are alerted of a "special needs" person at this location. During wide spread emergencies, a hard copy book is kept in the Office of Emergency Management. Police, Fire or EMS personnel are dispatched to check on "special needs" persons in the effected area. AT NO TIME IS THIS INFORMATION RELEASED TO ANYONE OTHER THAN EMERGENCY RESPONDERS AND ONLY DURING EMERGENCY SITUATIONS. 201-440-5611, EXT: 113 |
