By 1905, as the Village continued to grow, the need for fire protection to serve the southern section of town was apparent and following the approval by the Village Trustees, the Overpeck Hose Company Number 2 was incorporated July 3, 1905. A member of Hook & Ladder Number 1 , Louis Eucker, donated a small hand pumper and hose cart for the company's use. In 1906, the Overpeck Hose Company purchased a lot to the north of the Hook & Ladder's quarters and still is quartered there today. |
