RIDGEFIELD PARK VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE CORPS YOUTH SQUAD
The RPVAC Youth Squad currently consists of young men and women ages 16-18 who donate their time and talents to help the people of the Village of Ridgefield Park. They are members of the Ambulance Corps who become CPR certified and EMTs at an early age. They come from a wide variety of backgrounds and come together to complete one goal: To help the people of the Village in their time of need.
Each member of the Youth Squad takes a four-hour duty night where they learn from the active members. The Youth Squad members are active participants on an emergency call.
Many of the members of the Youth Squad have aspirations of careers in the medical fields. These young men and women want to donate their time to help other people - and have fun doing it!
If you are interested in becoming a member of the RPVAC Youth Squad, please stop by 48 Main Street, Ridgefield Park to get an application or call (201) 641-4770.

The Youth Squad participated in a drill on October 13, 2002, with the Ridgefield Park Fire Department and Rescue Squad. We simulated treating two patients inside a staged bus accident, while the Fire and Rescue Department performed an emergency extrication to allow the patients (and Youth Squad!) to escape. After the extrication, the Youth Squad was able to learn how to use some of the Heavy Rescue tools.
