RPVAC - EQUIPMENT

RPVAC MCI TRUCK
Through a federal grant Ridgefield Park Volunteer Ambulance Corps has obtained a Chevy Suburban to use as a MCI (Mass Casualty Incident) Truck. The truck will be used to respond to Village special events with gatherings of large crowds, such as the Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks, to coordinate EMS response, and to respond to Emergency calls involving greater than five patients (such as a motor vehicle accidents). The truck will also respond to hazardous situations that have the potential to have multiple patients, such as Fire Department activities (Fire Stand-bys).
The MCI truck will be staffed by specially trained members of RPVAC. The truck is equipped with radio communications, and the equipment to care for multiple patients (as a supplement to RPVAC’s two ambulances). Special equipment includes triage and treatment equipment, oxygen supplies and delivery system for additional 8-10 patients, specialized burn and dressing materials.
RPVAC remains committed to serving the Village of Ridgefield Park and its Emergency Responders (Fire Department, Rescue Squad, and Police Department), whatever the need might be.
