NEWS - March 24, 2012: WANTED: VILLAGE GARDENERS
WANTED: VILLAGE GARDENERS

During the spring and fall of each year, a group of residents get together to plant flowers in the various planters on Main Street and in the neighborhood business districts on Teaneck Road, Ridgefield Avenue and other locations around our Village. They are known as the Village Gardeners. We are looking for more residents to join The Village Gardeners in this effort to keep Ridgefield Park beautiful.

We will be doing an early Spring Planting on Saturday morning, March 31 , 2012. At that time we will be planting some of the flowers that are more cold tolerant. Then on Saturday, May 12th, 2012, we will complete the planting with flowers that should last through the summer and into the autumn.

In October, we will again be planting some fall flowers and ornamental kale and cabbage and preparing the planters for the winter season.

If you are interested in joining, please leave your name, telephone number and address at the municipal building. You can also send this information to us via e-mail at: rpdeputy@nj.rr.com.You don’t need any prior gardening experience. Each planting event will take about 2 hours on a Saturday morning. If you happen to be busy on the dates we are planting, but still want to help, there are many other tasks for which we will need help.
